Your career goal tells an employer the job you want. Create a specific goal that is clearly defined, tailored to your situation and tailored to the position for which you are applying. A vague goal, or one that causes the employer to wonder why you are applying to their company, can actually weaken your resume. Customize the goal at work you are looking for. Use the lens to highlight your special skills and personal attributes. The modern resume does not require a career goal, but it is good to have a loan in case an employer requests it. Most of the templates or examples that you find online that show this component are deprecated. Unless you are a recent graduate or career changer, consider approaching your career goal in your cover letter or using a summary of qualifications instead. If you meet a goal on your resume, make it very specific and adapt it to each application.
