Some people say that goals are no longer needed in a resume - at best they are useless, and at worst, they are out of date. However, a CV objective that focuses on your skills and abilities can actually improve your resume by convincing employers that you know what you want to do and that you have the skills to do the job. A resume objective is a statement of your goals for the job, usually listed at the top of your resume. A recovery goal is usually one or two long sentences. The most effective goal is one that is tailored to the job for which you are applying. It indicates what kind of career you are looking for, and what skills and experiences you have that make you ideal for this career. A resume goal can also include where you have been, and where you want to go in your career. For example, it could indicate some of your past accomplishments, and then move on to the type of accomplishments you hope to accomplish in the future (ideally, the accomplishments you want to achieve for the company for which you are applying).
